GENEVA TOWNSHIP

2025 YEAR IN REVIEW

The past year has been one of meaningful progress and collaboration for Geneva Township. This Year in Review provides a comprehensive look at the achievements, key projects, and strategic investments undertaken to support our community. We extend our appreciation to the dedicated staff, elected officials, volunteers, and engaged residents whose commitment ensures that our Township remains a place where people can live, work, and thrive.

From continuous infrastructure improvements, collaborating on a Tree Grant, zoning reviews and future updates, Comprehensive Plan public meetings resulting in a complete plan, enhanced communication with the new Township Facebook page, beginning the process of a Transportation Grant in conjunction with other local entities.  We also held a community event to connect with the residents and provide them information about the services provided.  This year has been one of growth, community and collaboration. Together, we have not only strengthened the foundation of our Township but also laid the groundwork for a brighter tomorrow.

Geneva Township again this year received the 2025 NOPEC Energized Community Event sponsorship which we used for Community Fire event held at the Geneva Township Hall.  We also received a NOPEC Energized Community Grant this year.  These funds were used to install a new heater and insulation in one of the Township Garage buildings which was previously unheated.  This building stores some of the Township equipment.

As a direct product of our dedicated and knowledgeable Road Department, the Township’s roads continue to be well maintained and improved at an exceptional level despite the increased traffic and rapid deterioration. Their projects for 2025 include the following:

  • Completed roughly 2,500 feet of culvert pipe installs
  • Dug out bad spots on Walter Main Road and patched them with stone and then asphalt
  • Chip and sealed roughly 5 miles of roads
  • Built numerous catch basins in house
  • Cold paved East Maple
  • Asphalted patch on Lake Rd
  • Heater installed in other shop building
  • Poured concrete pad in storage building in
  • Installed awning on main door of building house
  • Picked up numerous trees and branches on roadway from storm
  • Insulated shop building
  • Completed ditching and roadside mowing

Potential projects for 2026 Road Department are paving roughly 3 miles of road, chip and sealing roughly 5 miles of road and continue culvert installs.

We sincerely appreciate the ongoing support and involvement.  As we look to the future, our commitment to nurturing a collaborative, innovative and strong community remains a priority to meet the needs of our wonderful community.
